Fellowship Alumni Retreat 2018
Sydney, 11th May - 13th May
Alumni, register now to secure your place at the Progress Fellows Retreat 2018 in the stunning Blue Mountains
When: 6pm Friday 11th May – 2.30pm Sun 13th May 2018.
Who: Australian Progress fellowship alumni from all cohorts (Melbourne 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017; Sydney 2014, 2015 and 2016; Perth 2015, Brisbane 2016, New Zealand 2016 and 2017, National Message Fellowships in 2015 and 2016; Digital Fundraising Fellowship 2017). There are now 330+ of you and this retreat will only accommodate a maximum of 40, so it’ll fill up quickly!
Where: In 2017, we’re heading to the lovely Jemby Rinjah Eco-Lodge, near Blackheath in the Blue Mountains. Just 90 minutes drive (or comfortable train) from Sydney, the lodge is on the doorstep of the National Park, 10 minutes walk from Evans Lookout. After two years in Byron, we’re mixing it up – and also responding to feedback that it would be great to do close to Melbourne or Sydney next time.
– The agenda is interactive and focuses primarily on structured mutual support and problem-solving.
– Key skill-development classes led by your fellow-fellows, as well as an option to be exposed to a piece of content from a Fellowship you haven’t done (general; or specialist fundraising & messaging)
– Learn from a Guest speaker
– Explore new collaborations, and discuss strategies to shift Australia on your issues.
– Relax, have a few glasses of red on by the giant open fire, and optionally complete the stunning 3.5hr Grand Canyon walk.
What did the fellows who came along in the past say?
“I came to the weekend with 3 questions I wanted help with. Between ‘what should I do next’, 1:1 coaching, and the reciprocity circle I was able to get help with all 3 questions. So that was fantastic! I also loved getting to connect with even more of the amazing people who have done the fellowship.”
“What was the best part? The chance to meet up with people I already knew from my cohort and also meet other campaigners. The pace was great (not so intense as the Fellowship retreats) and gave the space to have conversations which was really helpful.”
This graph sort of says it all:
And check out the video from 2016:
Cost: $300+GST earlybird (before 30 Sept) price covers participation, food & accommodation on site. Regular price is $400, increasing to $475 on Feb 1st.
Getting there: From Sydney we will organise a carpool, and the train is a great option.
If you’re flying in the from elsewhere, I’d recommend:
Tiger: From Melbourne – there on TT242 and return on TT279.
Jetstar: From Melbourne – there on JQ512 and return JQ725.
Virgin: From Melbourne – there on VA845 and back on VA882 or VA886.
Auckland, Wellington, Perth and Brisbane options also obviously plentiful (suggest arriving in Sydney before 3pm on Fri and leaving after 7.00pm on Sunday).
Accommodation: There are a range of accommodation styles in very pleasant eco-cabins with between 2-4 beds per room. We unfortunately do not have space for partners or family this year.
