Melbourne Fellowship 2016
Melbourne, 12th August - 12th December
We train and empower 21st century change agents: campaigners, non-profit managers, and community organisers, who build and serve social change movements.
The 2016 Melbourne Fellowship runs from mid-August until Mid-December, and includes:
- Two residential weekend retreats (August and October) and one non-residential weekend retreat (December);
- Weekly seminars in Melbourne CBD which usually include an expert seminar or practical workshop, reading discussion and time to work with or get to know your fellow fellows;
- Weekly readings (articles and chapters from expert practitioners and theorists around the world) and you must submit short written reflections on them after every seminar; and
- a live campaign run with a small team of fellows over the final 12 weeks of the program – together, you’ll make real change in the world.
The program covers a deep dive into best practice campaign strategy approaches and tools, messaging, framing and communications strategy and practices, lobbying and direct advocacy to decision-makers, community organising, digital campaigning tools, media engagement and civil disobedience.
Australia’s civil society is stronger when the people working for our many organisations have a diversity of experience and backgrounds. We strongly encourage applicants from a diversity of genders, backgrounds, cultures, languages and experiences to apply.
We are able to accommodate one more application, if that’s you–complete the application form asap.
