The Melbourne Digital Bootcamp is a five-day intensive training in digital advocacy and campaigning designed to give new practitioners a skill-set turbo boost.

At Bootcamp we’ll learn together through expert seminars, hands-on workshops and a super-fun competitive digital campaign simulation, where you’ll work in small teams. We’ll cover:

  • Winning campaign strategy;
  • Campaign mini-site development, including introductory html and css;
  • Approaches for list growth, segmentation and management;
  • Data-based decision-making, experiment design, statistics and more;
  • Effective email campaigning including storytelling for email;
  • Fundraising tips, tricks and strategies; and
  • Social Media content, campaigning, and community management

Participants are likely to be communications staff, digital marketers and campaigners moving into digital campaigning, or campaigners who have started in digital advocacy roles in recent years.

Digital Bootcamp is run by Jessie Mawson who has more than 10 years experience in Australia’s non-profit sector. Jessie has specialist skills in digital campaign tactics, content curation/creation and online community building. She developed the organisation’s first social media strategy across a series of flagship campaigns at Amnesty International Australia and has also performed a leading communications role at The Wilderness Society.

Expert presenters from across Australia and around the world will join Jessie at Digital Bootcamp.

The program will be intensive and practical, with bootcampers competing in teams in a campaign simulation to apply the skills they are learning.
