Your work at the forefront of the inequality fight has never been more important – and influencing mainstream media has never been harder. Australian Progress’ new Media Spokesperson Intensive will give you the confidence to make the media work for you.

The four-day training program combines theory and practical media interview simulations that will give you the media skills you need in this moment.  You will learn about:

  • Power and the Australian media landscape
  • What makes a story newsworthy
  • How to frame your issue and devise strong campaign messages
  • All about preparing and pitching media stories
  • Delivering your message – practical on-camera interview practice
  • Hear direct from political journalists about what’s happening on newsdesks
  • Draft your own campaign media strategy

This training will give you practical skills to communicate through the media to maximise campaign success.  The training will be led by activist PR pros with decades of experience devising and executing winning campaign media strategies.

This training aims to increase the representation of grassroots advocates, marginalised communities and people with lived experience of economic and racial injustice. First Nations people, people with disability, people of colour, refugees and people seeking asylum, and unwaged people are strongly encouraged to apply.

WHERE AND WHEN WILL IT BE HELD?

The Media Spokesperson Training will run twice on August 3-6 and August 17-20. Both trainings will be run online.
