We’ve teamed up with Ethical Property to RUN Progress Central, a DYNAMIC work space for social change makers in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.

Located on the top floor of the stunning, heritage-listed donkey wheel house, Progress Central provides space for more than 45 campaigners, organisers, tech experts, creatives and socially-minded entrepreneurs.

Desks for individuals and small organisations are now available in the bright, airy former headquarters of the Melbourne Tramway Company.

In addition to individual desks, the space offers:

  • Access to private meeting rooms, projector & large screen LCD TV
  • Commercial kitchen (and after-hours workshop space) complete with espresso machine and abundant tea collection.
  • Secure swipe card entry
  • Shower facilities, off-street bike parking
  • 1 minute from Southern Cross Station and 86 / 96 tram stops
  • Fast and reliable wifi
  • Desk and chairs provided
  • Soaring cathedral ceiling, heritage listed bees-wax walls, greenery and loads of natural light
  • Wheelchair access via Godfrey Street and lift
  • Delicious coffee and food downstairs at Kinfolk cafe, a social enterprise

One of the best things about working at Progress Central that it brings together a great mix of like-minded organisations. Not only do you get to hear about all the amazing campaigns and social change other organisations are doing, but you also have amazing opportunities to learn from each other and collaborate. And the donkey wheel house building is just beautiful!
