Amy Jenkins
MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER, COMMUNITY PUBLIC SECTOR UNION
Amy just started at CPSU PSU (federal public service union) as a Communications Officer having worked as the Media & Communications Officer at HACSU (mental health & disability union), and an OHS Organiser & Youth Organiser at Trades Hall (the peak body for unions in Victoria). She has also worked as a Field Organiser on the successful campaign for the Tasmanian seat of Bass in the 2016 federal election. Amy is also on the board of Flat out, a feminist NFP that provides outreach services to criminalised women. Amy started her activist career as her student unions’ Women’s Officer, though her first successful campaign was around 1995 when she created “No Smoking” signs for her house, and engaged in direct action by pinching the cigarettes out of her dad’s pocket as she rose on the back of his motorbike.
