Privacy Policy
The Centre for Australian Progress (Australian Progress) is a national nonprofit that builds the advocacy capacity of civil society to drive systems change.
We collect and use a variety of information about our community and outline below how we utilise this information.
WHEN WE COLLECT INFORMATION
When you register to attend an Australian Progress training, conference or program.
When you complete requests for extra information for trainings and events (e.g. a form).
When you request to sign up to our community e.g. through our website.
When you engage with us on social media.
When you email us.
When you speak to us.
We may also manually append or update your records with public information such as from your LinkedIn Profile.
WHAT WE COLLECT
Name, email, phone numbers.
Details of your employment, such as your job title, organisation, manager, interest area etc.
Records of your participation in our programs, e.g. events you have attended.
Details we need to enable your participation such as but not limited to dietary requirements and accessibility information.
Information on your contact preferences, how we have contacted you, and the results of such contact.
WHY WE COLLECT IT
To promote relevant opportunities of interest to you e.g. through email, phone calls, SMS, social media, or other means.
To manage incoming inquiries (e.g. applications to take part in programs and other requests), and ensure we have responded appropriately.
To evaluate our social outcomes and impact against our social mission, including on individual, organisational and sector-wide capacity.
To provide insights to support our planning and design relevant programs.
WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT
Financial information, such as credit card details (these may or may not be retained by third parties such as Stripe or Eventbrite, dependent on their own privacy policies and your choices).
Medical information (other than as provided to us, such as through an accessibility or dietary requirements question).
WHERE WE STORE DATA
We primarily store data in a Salesforce database.
We may also store information in other third-party, cloud-based applications including Eventbrite, Mailchimp, SurveyMonkey, Google Apps, FormAssembly, and Stripe.
WHO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH
We do not sell or rent your contact information or personal data to any third parties.
We may provide your information on time-limited basis to nonprofit partners to enable us to deliver our programs (e.g. a partner may be helping recruit a specific sector to our training programs or events).
We may provide your information to a contractor on a time-limited basis for a specific purpose such as recruitment to an event (e.g. a telemarketing company).
We occasionally provide partners of our events with lists of attendees to enable them to evaluate the opportunity to take part, whether Organisation/Title or in some cases Name/Organisation/Title; however do not simultaneously provide personal contact information.
AMENDING OR DELETING YOUR DATA, OR CHANGING YOUR CONTACT PREFERENCES AT YOUR REQUEST
We will update the data we have on you, e.g. correcting an email address or employer. Given our limited resources, we ask for your patience as this may take up to 30 days to process.
We will unsubscribe you (a specific email address or phone) from receiving information if you complete this form. Please note we cannot process requests to be unsubscribed that come in any other way.
We will provide access to a listing of the personal information we have collected within 30 days.
We will delete all the information we have on you; we cannot delete partial information.
