Hanifa Abdiraihan

Democracy in Colour, NSW State Coordinator

Hanifa is NSW State Coordinator at Democracy in Colour. Previously, she was State Coordinator at Muslim Collective Australia, building communities at the intersection of faith, identity and progress.

During the marriage equality vote, Hanifa worked to establish community support for queer Muslims.

Hanifa works professionally in communications. She completed an Honours degree at the University of New South Wales, exploring how citizen perceptions shape a democracy.

She is passionate about empowering voices for social and political change and is inspired by the ways citizens empower themselves to navigate democracy.
