State Coordinator, Democracy in Colour

Joannie is the NSW State Coordinator at Democracy in Colour, an advocacy organisation that tackles systemic racism and economic injustice. She has been working on the campaign to achieve Wage Subsidy For All to ensure everyone is supported throughout the COVID-19 crisis. Joannie is passionate about building community power, particularly the power of frontline communities and believes that through collective power we can live in a society where everyone's dignity and humanity can be recognised and upheld. She is also currently completing a Masters in Development Studies at UNSW.
