Kate is a Senior Media Advisor at the Climate Media Centre, focusing on gaining media exposure for climate impacts and solutions in Queensland. She is originally from Tasmania, having started her career as a journalist in Launceston at The Examiner Newspaper. Kate moved to the Sunshine Coast shortly after finishing a cadetship and securing work as the crime and court reporter at the Sunshine Coast Daily, and later as an Assistant Editor at a local lifestyle magazine and starting her own media and communications business. Kate is passionate about doing what's right for the environment and for her family of two boys.
