Marianne Jauncey

DIRECTOR, Uniting MSIC

Marianne studied medicine many years ago and found herself at a community clinic in Kings Cross for people who inject drugs, work in the sex industry, and are homeless. An exceptional place, it is driven by the values of social justice and embracing everyone no matter who they are. This was the beginning of her finding her passion. She completed her master’s in public health and a training program run by the NSW Ministry of Health. Here she met more kindred spirits, professionals who work to reduce inequality, improve outcomes for all, and make the world a fairer place. As a public health doctor she has worked at the coal face of harm reduction for two decades, and is the director of the Medically Supervised Injecting Centre, run by Uniting.
