Referendum Organising Guides

Referendum organising and mobilising guides for First Nations organisations, community groups, individuals and civil society.

THE REFERENDUM HAS BEEN CALLED FOR SATURDAY 14TH OCTOBER.

A resounding Yes has the power to send a strong message and create the political mandate for transformational change for First Nations justice now and beyond the referendum, we can use the groundswell of public support to influence the political decisions that come next - on truth-telling, treaties, land rights, justice, housing, health, cultural heritage protection and more.

In these final weeks, it’s critical that First Nations organisations, community groups and individuals across the country have what they need to take action. That’s why we have pulled together these resources here, to support First Nations communities to come together, learn, share, ask questions and have conversations with one another about the upcoming referendum.

We’re in the final stretch and a win will absolutely require civil society organisations giving it everything we’ve got to mobilise our staff, volunteers and supporters to join the campaigns and build support for First Nations justice. There are different organisations and movements coordinating to deliver this win. This guide here pulls together key information from across the major Yes campaigns and alliances, and is designed as a week-by-week plan to help you plan your organisation’s communications and tactics.
