David Burke

SENIOR LAWYER, HUMAN RIGHTS LAW CENTRE

David is a Senior Lawyer and Pro Bono Coordinator at the Human Rights Law Centre, working primarily to protect the rights of refugees and people seeking asylum. His work focuses on offshore detention and includes urgent Federal Court cases for men, women and children in Nauru and Manus to allow them to access medical treatment. Prior to joining the Human Rights Law Centre, David was a lawyer at Lander & Rogers – where he founded and coordinated the firm’s Asylum Seeker Pro Bono Program – and a paralegal at Refugee Legal in the Boat Arrivals Taskforce.
