Laura Sykes

SCHOOLS PROGRAM DIRECTOR, AUSTRALIAN YOUTH CLIMATE COALITION

Originally from Northern Tasmania, Laura is the National Schools Program Director at the AYCC, and is passionate about building a movement of high school students to lead the transition to renewable energy across Australia. She has worked with young people for the past 8 years in social justice, human rights and environmental justice campaigns and programs, and is excited to be working to build the youth climate justice movement to ensure a fair, just and sustainable world for future generations. In 2012 she was awarded the Southern Cross Young Achievers Entrepreneurship Award and in 2013 was a Tasmanian finalist in the Young Australian of the Year Awards.
