IMPACT PRODUCER, CLOSER PRODUCTIONS

Born of Aboriginal, American Indian and Chinese descent, Bee Cruse is a Cultural Storyteller. Her family come from the Kamilirio, Wiradjuri and Yuin-Monaro people of NSW, and she is currently writing and directing her first documentary ‘The Cruse Kinnection’ (working title) on the ancestry of her American Indian blood. With a heart made for helping others, Bee had her humble beginnings working with the NGO sector with Caritas Australia for 3 years with the First Australians Program. Inspired by the community development and personal empowerment she saw working with Caritas and their partners, she thought about pursuing a political career to help be apart of the change she wanted to see, Bee starting working with her Local Federal Member of Parliament, Christopher Hayes. Bee Cruse has since been working in the Arts sector in Film, Television and Theatre on Indigenous stories such as ‘Redfern Now’, ‘Cleverman’, ‘Servant or Slave’ and ‘After The Apology’. The 2017 Sydney Festival saw her as the Assistant Director of ‘Home Country’, 3 stage shows being staged in a 3 level parking lot in Blacktown. Currently, Bee is pursuing her own art to help create change in society and she is working with Director Maya Newell on her latest documentary ‘Kids’ (working title) in the Advocacy and Campaigning team.
