SENIOR ADVISER, OFFICE OF ELLEN SANDELL MP

Fern grew up in the Tasmanian mountains making mud pies and climbing trees. She studied law in and science at uni in Canberra, while waitressing in an Ethiopian restaurant and living off delicious curries. Fern has worked in policy roles within the federal and Victorian government, covering climate change, agriculture, health and regulation. Fern’s current role is as adviser to Ellen Sandell, Greens MP for Melbourne. This role involves advocating for bus stop seats for local constituents, campaigning for a climate safe future and everything in between. Fern is passionate about protecting Australia’s natural environment and applied for the fellowship to learn how to be an effective issues based campaigner.
